Bringing you this week’s Asian Chart Weekly! We are bringing you a weekly update of what are the top hits and artists trending in Asia as a region across all international and local genres of music!
The Top 30 Asian Chart combines Spotify Top 50 Country Charts on every Friday of the week for 8 ASEAN countries Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
* Each song is given a index weightage, #1 with 50 points, #2 with 49 points etc in each country’s charts to generate a total sum. Songs are then ranked with the highest to lowest of their points weightage.
We received such a great response with last week’s introduction of new artists in the region. So, we thought it’d be fun to introduce some rising artists and social trends in the region!
Ranked at #10, R&B singer-songwriter, Giveon, is an upcoming artist that is breaking waves in the region. From being nominated for Best R&B Album at the forthcoming 2021 Grammy Awards to having his debut EP peaked on Billboard charts, Giveon is definitely an artist to watch this year!
Ranked at #23, is a newcomer on the charts – underground hip-hop group from the Philippines, 1096 Gang with their hottest single “Pajama Party” that literally became an overnight sensation on Tik Tok. With its ultra-catchy “Pamparampampam” verse that has millions of users on TikTok hooked, the single eventually jumped to #1 on TikTok Philippines trends in a span of 24 hours, and has since clocked more than 30M views on the official video on Youtube!
