Bringing you this week’s Asian Chart Weekly! We are bringing you a weekly update of what are the top hits and artists trending in Asia as a region across all international and local genres of music!
The Top 30 Asian Chart combines Spotify Top 50 Country Charts on every Friday of the week for 8 ASEAN countries Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
* Each song is given a index weightage, #1 with 50 points, #2 with 49 points etc in each country’s charts to generate a total sum. Songs are then ranked with the highest to lowest of their points weightage.
In comparison to last week’s chart, we generally saw an increase in ranks for most of the songs. Artists such as The Weeknd and Giveon are still stealing the spotlight in Asia but we do have some newcomers on the chart! Hence, we thought it’d be fun to introduce them to you!
Ranked at #14, Chinese singer, Ren Ran, became viral on the popular Chinese version of Tiktok app, Douyin, with her track titled, “飞鸟和蝉”. With users using her song as part of their short videos, the song has been played more than 1.3 billion times and used on more than 1.37 million video submissions!
Ranked at #25, is Chinese singer-songwriter, Eric Chou, with his single titled, “怎麼了”. Fun fact is that even though this song was released in 2019, it has managed to reenter the charts, proving once again that Eric Chou is one of the most successful Chinese artists in the region!
